Sharni Vinson was born in the state NSW and was raised on the southern beaches located in Sydney suburban Cronulla. At the age of 16 she participated at a National Level in swimming, having four State records through high school. Sharni began singing, dancing and acting as a child, making her the third generation of her family to perform. At the age of 12, Sharni began her studies as a pupil in the Brent Street School of Performing Arts in Sydney in which she was instructed throughout the various dance forms for the next 10 years. When she was 17 after completing high school, Sharni was offered a contract with Roadshow Music Australia as a participant in the all-girl pop group "Foxfire IV" which was whose first single "Roses" reached the top 50 of Australia's ARIA charts.
